VISION
AFT-NH offers the VSP Vision benefit as a member benefit. Open enrollment is Oct 5 through Oct 31, 2022. Open enrollment is for any AFT-NH members interested in joining the VSP plan through AFT-NH. We also need all current AFT-NH VSP plan members to fill out the Open Enrollment form so we know you want to continue with the plan and so we have your most current contact information.
Now for some details! Our VSP Vision Benefit covers:
- an annual eye exam with only a $10 co-pay
- a $25 copay on eyeglasses
- an allowance of $120 towards the cost of eyeglass frames/ elective contact lenses
- discounts on lense coatings and enhancements (see example)
- Essential medical eyecare to manage specific medical issues
- VSP has a wide network of participating eye doctors
- VSP eyeglass benefits can now be used at their online site Eyeconic

Here is an example of the savings on one pair of glasses from the savings calculator on the VSP website (based on the cost of a single member plan)! Remember your eye exam is also covered after the $10 copay for an in-network doctor!

Below are the rates for the new plan year, which starts Nov 1, 2022, and runs through Oct 31, 2023. There has been no decrease in what our plan provides - if anything it has added value as VSP is offering even more discounts and special offers through their website. We feel this is good value for your money, especially if you wear glasses or contact lenses. The entire amount is due in one payment by Oct 31, 2022 to be enrolled or renewed for Nov. 1st, 2022. To keep our cost low for administering plan enrollment and billing, we really need everyone to pay in full and on time by Oct 31. Make checks payable to AFT-NH VSP.
