It is that time of year again for our VSP Open Enrollment!
AFT-NH offers the VSP Vision benefit as a member benefit. Open enrollment begins Sept 25 and runs through Oct 23, 2023. Open enrollment is for any AFT-NH member or retiree interested in joining the VSP Vision plan through AFT-NH. If you already get the VSP Vision benefit through AFT-NH, you do NOT need to sign up again, simply pay the invoice when it arrives in the mail in October! (If you are not sure whether you get VSP through AFT-NH or through your employer, look at your check stub. If you are paying through payroll deduction, it’s employer provided.)
Now for some details! Our VSP Vision Benefit covers:
- an annual eye exam with only a $10 co-pay
- a $25 copay on eyeglasses
- an allowance of $120 towards the cost of eyeglass frames/ contact lenses
- discounts on lens coatings and enhancements (see example)
- Try the savings calculator to see what you could save on glasses or contacts!
- Essential medical eyecare to manage specific medical issues.
- VSP has a wide network of participating eye doctors.
- VSP eyeglass benefits can now be used at their online site Eyeconic
- Many additional discounts through the VSP website.

AFT-NH bills annually, in one lump sum, for its VSP plan. Below are the rates for the new plan year, which starts Nov 1, 2023, and runs through Oct 31, 2024. The entire amount is due in one payment by Oct 31, 2023 to be enrolled or renewed for Nov. 1st, 2023. To keep our costs low for administering plan enrollment and billing, we really need everyone to pay in full and on time by Oct 31. Make checks payable to AFT-NH VSP.
