Statement on Senate Passage of HB 1792 as a Reenactment of the Unconstitutional Divisive Concepts Law
"The extremist majority in the NH Senate’s passage of HB 1792 is another betrayal of public-school students and a direct attack on honest education. This bill revives a harmful approach already rejected when AFT-NH and others successfully overturned New Hampshire’s Divisive Concepts law in federal court. Instead of learning from that failure, extremist lawmakers are again trying to silence educators and limit students’ ability to think critically. Students and taxpayers deserve truth, opportunity, and a Legislature that stops repeating the same unconstitutional mistakes."
