AFT-NH 2025 Scholarship Opportunities

AFT-NH is proud to award two $1,500 scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Honey Cascio Scholarship will be awarded to one graduating high school senior who has been accepted into an institution of higher learning. The Billy Donovan Scholarship will be awarded to one continuing student at an accredited institution of higher learning for the 2025-2026 academic year. Prior scholarship winners are ineligible.

Scholarship Opportunities

This year, in honor of Sister Linda Horan, the NH AFL-CIO will again award scholarship assistance. Members in good standing of an affiliated local union, their spouses, children, grandchildren, stepchildren, or legal wards are encouraged to apply. A minimum of three scholarships will be awarded: the first for $1,500, the second for $1,000, and the third for $750. Additional prizes may be awarded contingent on the available funding. Essays and application forms must be received by the NH AFL-CIO Scholarship Committee no later than 4:00 p.m., FRIDAY, August 9th, 2024, NH AFL-CIO, 161 Londonderry Turnpike, Hooksett, NH 03106.

AFT-NH 2024 Scholarship Recipients

AFT-NH is proud to award this year's scholarship winners.

The Honey Cascio award recipient for a graduating high school student is awarded to Charles Bradley Jr. He attends Billerica Memorial High School in Billerica MA. His mom is member Stacey Sweklo-Bradley, a teacher in the Nashua Teachers' Union  AFT 1044. 

The winner of the Billy Donovan award for a continuing college student is John T. Duval, who attends Temple University. His dad is member Vincent Duval, a band teacher at Pennichuck Middle School, and part of the Nashua Teachers' Union AFT-1044.

AFT-NH is proud to award two $1,500 scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year. The Cascio scholarship will be offered to one graduating senior who has been accepted at an institution of higher learning, while the Donovan scholarship will go to one continuing student at an accredited institution of higher learning for the 2024-2025 academic year. Prior scholarship winners are ineligible.

Applicant’s parent or guardian must be a current member of AFT-NH. Winners will need to provide proof of enrollment (continuing or as a new student) for the 2024-2025 academic year in order to receive their scholarship check. All applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2024.
